About Us
Why wiggle and giggle? Why music? Why us?
If any one person has inspired us to do these classes it is the one person who now rules both of our lives on a day to day basis. Our son Declan and now his little brother Jazz.
Declan loves music but this is no accident. Sure we expected him to have some sort of musical aptitude, being the offspring of two musicians, but he really loves music, he reacts to it, he interacts with it, he makes it.
Even before he was born he was reacting to it. His mum used to go to belly dancing classes twice a week all through the pregnancy, and when the music had finished, Dec used to roll and kick around. Whether in protest or relief we are not quite sure, but what is certain is his joy and interest in anything musical that he comes across or interacts with.
Since his early belly dancing classes Dec has had continued daily exposure to music. His mobile played classical music to soothe him and calm him, we had the radio on in the car and at home, he went to his first brass band contest at 3 months(and still managed to sleep through some of it). He now dances and tries to imitate melodies. In the car he regularly likes to 'bop' along with whatever is on the radio, be it Jazz, Rock, R n B, Guns n roses, Drum and Bass or the 'Wiggles'. It usually starts with a head nod, then the legs start going and finally the clenched fists start waving in a seemingly un-coordinated yet very rhythmical manner!
Declan gets so much enjoyment out of music on a day to day basis we thought 'Why can't other children experience this?'
The fact is they can, and we are here to show you how. Through fun-filled musical activities, movement and dance we will show you how music can be used to stimulate, calm, soothe, amaze and assist in creativity and imagination. Your child will develop confidence in themselves and their abilities and will develop fine motor skills, cognitive thinking and skills that they will be able to use in school and at home.
Through making music, singing, performing, wiggling and giggling you and your child will experience the joy of music and realise the importance of music in a child's development. It will create a strong bond between you and the child and even develop the child's literacy and numeracy skills. All this before they even start school and the best thing about it is they have fun doing it.
