Why should I choose Wiggle And Giggle Music over other music programs?
There are many music classes available and finding the right class is a personal choice. We believe that the best way to find the right class is by attending a free trial and seeing for yourself how fun and educational our classes are.
If you are interested in wiggling and giggling phone us to check availability for a free trial. Is Wiggle And Giggle Music a franchise?
No, Wiggle And Giggle Music are an independent music school.
Wiggle And Giggle Music chose to create their own music program rather than opting to join a franchise or operate under someone else's banner. Many franchisee's allow operators to have little and in some cases no musical background for a simple payment and their own training. Classes are simply paint by number in delivery and do not offer the flexibility to cater for individual needs in a group. As university trained, experienced musicians and teachers, Wiggle & Giggle Music teachers have the flexibility to tailor classes to the individual needs of the students, as well as being able to change course and "go with the flow" based on the dynamics of the group. We are also able to take on board suggestions and feedback from parents and immediately make changes without having to get permission from governing bodies. Parents and carers have made our classes what they are today! When we started in August 2009, we had 38 students and although we were following the usual formal music structure for early childhood music classes, it wasn't what parents wanted. Parents and carers said "We want the music class to offer something we can't offer our children at home". By listening and implementing their suggestions we have grown our classes from 38 children, 1 day a week in 1 location, to over 180 children, 5 days a week in 6 locations. This is why we are not part of a franchise. Can I start mid-term?
Yes. If we have a vacancy you can join at any time throughout the term.
Why are classes offered in partnership with CCSACs and The Benevolent Society?
Our partnerships with Central Coast Schools As Community Centres and The Benevolent Society, allow us to offer classes at rates that are affordable for most families. It is an agreement when accepting the reduced rate of $9 per lesson that we have permission to pass on your details to our partners and they may contact you with regards to other family/child courses and activities run at their centres. In some cases these organisations may be able to subsidise costs
further depending on your circumstances however this is at the discretion of each organisiation.
If for any reason you do not agree to us passing on your details the usual rate of $11 will apply. Can I attend classes on a casual basis?
This may be possible, however this will depend on whether we have vacancies in the class you are interested in attending. If you choose to attend on a casual basis we cannot guarantee you a permanent place in the class and your place will be offered to anyone wanting a full time place at any point throughout the term. Casual visits will be payable at the following rates;
My child doesn't appear to be taking part or enjoying classes as much as I thought they would. Is there anything I can do to change this?
Even outgoing children can take a while to settle in to new surroundings and often it will take 3-4 weeks before a child feels completely comfortable. The time it takes for a child to take part, varies greatly with some parents/carers stating that their child won't do anything in class, however as soon as they get home they are happy to do everything.
It's important not to force the child into doing something they do not want to do, as this will only increase their anxiety. They will experience music in their own way and will participate when they are ready when given the time. Do parents and carers participate in the music sessions?
Yes. Children look up to their parents and carers. We encourage you to get involved and watch the delight on your child's face. The more you join in and interact the more fun you and your child will have.
Can siblings attend classes?
We try to be as flexible as possible with regards to siblings attending classes. We understand that it's sometimes simply not possible to leave a sibling with a baby sitter, so we are more than happy for you to bring them along. If you have a young baby, it is advisable to bring your pram for the baby to sit in or wear a baby sling so that you are still able to interact with your child.
If you would like both children to take part in a particular class please contact us for more information and the options available to you. Do I need to take anything to a Wiggle And Giggle Music sessions?
No, Wiggle And Giggle Music provide everything you need. We have a maximum of 10 children per class and an instrument will be allocated to your child so you don't have to worry about them missing out.
What age should I start my start music classes?
It's never too early for you to attend a music class. We offer classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers from newborn to 5 years.
Studies have shown that babies can 'hear' inside the womb and that they are already 'learning' and beginning to memorise rhythmic and melodic patterns in your voice and types of music that they are exposed to whilst you are pregnant. They've even found that babies can discriminate between different genres of music and even display a preference for music that they have been exposed to in the pregnancy. It is therefore important for this learning to continue after birth. 'Every child is born with musical ability, but if it's not tapped into early enough then it can fail to develop.' How do I enrol?
Please contact us to check current vacancies and class details. Our terms run in line with the NSW Department of Education School terms.
Many of our classes are full so we won't know what vacancies are available until the end of term. We can add your name to the waiting list and as soon as we have a vacancy we will contact you. Our terms and conditions will be emailed to you along with a booking confirmation and map of how to find us. |
